West Harlem Arts Closing Reception
July 16, 2022 @ 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Participating artists from the West Harlem Arts: MEMORY + HEALING + SUSTAINABILITY exhibition will join Centro Civico Cultural Dominicano for our closing reception on Saturday, July 16 from 4 – 6pm.
MEMORY + HEALING + SUSTAINABILITY addresses the questions: how do you heal when memory is both prescient and present? How do you save the world and yourself and exist as a complete being when the world has torn you apart? Through paintings, collage, mixed-media, photography, and other media, the 18 exhibiting artists seek both to be free in the presence of a post-pandemic world that has divided itself once again while seeking to find roots in this fragile reality where distance outweighs desire.
Participating CCCD artists include: Dionis Ortiz, Elan Cadiz, Gayle Davis, Gia Shakur, Janelis Germosen, Jimmy James Greene, Jirair Tcholakian, Kimberly Cabán, Steven Mckenzie Uniqua Simmons, and Wilhelmina Grant-Cooper.
MEMORY + HEALING + SUSTAINABILITY is on view through July 16, 2022.
Please join us for our Closing Reception at Centro Civico Cultural Dominicano on Saturday, July 16 at 4pm.
West Harlem Arts: MEMORY + HEALING + SUSTAINABILITY is made possible with funding from West Harlem Development Corporation.
