Art Talks: Creating As A Spiritual Practice with Eilen Itzel Mena

May 29, 2022 @ 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

In this series of public workshops titled, Art Talks, artist and designer, Albany Andaluz, partners with The Children’s Art Carnival (CAC) to explore the creative practices of inspirational individuals. Whether it be writing, curating, painting, organizing, or therapy–this series shifts the focus from a traditional idea of creative expression to demonstrate the power of creativity and its presence in all aspects of our lives.

On May 29, 2022, painter and community organizer, Eilen Itzel Mena will inspire us to tap into the spiritual practices we have at reach to find purpose and community.

Mena is an Afro-Dominican American artist, writer and community organizer originally from the South Bronx. She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2017, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Her visual arts practice synthesizes Abstract Expressionism, Surrealism and African Diaspora spiritual frameworks through interdisciplinary work.
