Jonas St. Juste
I picked up a passion for fine art photography at a time when having images of comfort eased my moments of melancholy. Now, photography has become my path. It is about inner communication & mental engagement, and choosing the image I feel has something for me to say to others.

Artist Statement
I am a practicing and studious student of general photography. I picked up a passion for fine art photography at a time when having images of comfort eased my moments of melancholy. Now, photography has become my path. It is about inner communication & mental engagement, and choosing the image I feel has something for me to say to others. My body of work utilizes straight photography, depicting scenes or subjects in focus and detail. Concerned mostly with presenting these elements.
Since COVID-19, I took my work outside as a way of coping [with the pandemic] and as I took even less photos indoors. Indoors became so many things, but my work had to be outside. I didn’t have specific or conscious goals. It was routine. I improvised on my walks through neighborhoods, frequenting my neighborhood or others. My current project, or pattern is taking landscape pictures in Riverside Park, our local park.
